There will be an FOP Memorial Service for Brother Dale Woods this Sunday, January 13th. President Martin is out-of-state so I will be conducting the FOP Service along with Sister Hausermann, Brother Bennett, and Brother Hulgin. Brother Frey is procuring the white carnations and posthumous award and mementos to be presented to the family and he has acted as our liaison with the police department. Joe Hall will recite the “Final Inspection” on behalf of the Greater Cincinnati Police Historical Society. Brother James Love of our lodge is also the chaplain and media contact for Colerain Township Police. He will be representing our lodge at the public ceremonies as well.
Please arrive at the funeral home no later than 7 p.m. We will meet and go over the service which will begin at 8:00 p.m. All Colerain Township Police officers are being invited to participate in the FOP Service whether or not they are members of our Lodge. Otherwise, participation in the FOP Service with final salute will be limited to active members of FOP Lodge 113.
Officers who belong to other FOP lodges, officers who
do not belong to any FOP, and members of other Public Service Agencies such as
Fire/EMS will be paying their respects in the manner they choose.
The FOP honors will be rendered by the membership of Lodge 113 where Brother
Woods was an active member.
This practice is consistent with the traditions of the FOP.
On Monday a private ceremony (Police/Fire/Township Employees/Dispatchers/Family) will be conducted at the Cemetery’s Rose Garden. This service is not open to the general public. Please see the attached media release for details of all three days.
